The Canadian Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes Conference - A Lifetime of Learning is organized by The ILC Charitable Foundation and will be held on Nov 05, 2022.
TheILC has hosted medical workshops, scientific meetings, and accredited conferences since 2011. These events have brought together multidisciplinary specialists and patients together to advance understanding about Ehlers Danlos syndrome and the cluster of comorbid conditions it represents, especially in the hypermobile subtype. These events have helped to raise awareness about Chronic Pain as a symptom of a hereditary condition, as opposed to being viewed as a disease in its own right.
The educational focus is centered on the current best evidence from leading Canadian and international specialists while providing healthcare professionals and patients resources to manage symptoms and improve quality of life.
With the impact of COVID, TheILC is expanding its ability to offer important education via webinar presentations. We look forward to returning to in-person conferences in the future, as funds allow, and where the social impact of being together with our peers is so important.
TheILC has been the catalyst in having created a platform of participation through which multidisciplinary clinicians and researchers, patient groups, and non-profits can expand the types of resources provided to members.
Each year, we work to bring world-renowned multidisciplinary speakers to present on their respective areas of expertise. Healthcare professionals, individuals, and caregivers attend with a genuine interest in improving the level of understanding, care, and support services that can be provided through knowledge sharing.
