15th Academic & Health Policy Conference on Criminal Justice Health is organized by Academic Consortium on Criminal Justice Health (ACCJH) and will be held from Apr 06 - 08, 2022.
Target Audience:
Researchers, clinicians, administrators, educators, policy makers, and grant funding leaders
Goal:
To provide a forum for sharing and planning research, scholarship, and health policy in the field of correctional health
Objectives:
As a result of participating in this activity, learners will be able to:
• Describe emerging research across the field and design applied research and program evaluation.
• Create academic-correctional health partnerships and overcome barriers to research in your institutions.
• Network with a multidisciplinary group of participants concerned with the acquisition of new knowledge in correctional health practices.
• Summarize emerging health policy issues in correctional health and criminal justice.
Goals and Objectives:
Correctional health and juvenile justice professionals are faced with daily challenges unique to their fields at a time of unprecedented growth in detainee populations. While best practices have emerged, there are many gaps in clinical and population health research.
• Will corrections to community linkages help to decrease recidivism?
• What strategies can stem the rising populations of juvenile offenders?
• What practices can decrease suicide rates and self-injury behaviors?
• What strategies are useful in preventing relapses in substance abuse?
• What interventions will help detainees adhere to chronic illness care?
