OVERVIEW

TCM for Postpartum Healing: Proven Methods for Physical and Emotional Recovery is organized by Lotus Institute of Integrative Medicine and will be held on Oct 12, 2026.

Course Description:
The postpartum period is a time of profound physical and emotional transition, and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) offers valuable tools to support recovery and resilience. This course explores how practitioners can provide safe, ethical, and trauma-informed care to new parents, while recognizing red flags that require timely medical referral.

Participants will learn how to design treatment strategies that incorporate acupuncture, herbal medicine, and lifestyle guidance to address common postpartum concerns such as fatigue, pain, lactation issues, and emotional imbalance. Emphasis will also be placed on creating a safe therapeutic environment, supporting the transition to parenthood, and integrating TCM methods with modern postpartum care for comprehensive, patient-centered healing.

Upon completion of this course, practitioners will:

  • Recognize safety considerations and red flags in postpartum care to ensure appropriate referrals when necessary.
  • Apply ethical and trauma-informed care principles to create a supportive therapeutic environment for postpartum patients.
  • Design TCM-based treatment strategies, including acupuncture, herbal medicine, and lifestyle guidance, for postpartum recovery.
  • Address common postpartum concerns such as pain, fatigue, lactation issues, and emotional imbalance through integrative care.
