2021 Society of General Internal Medicine (SGIM) Annual Meeting is organized by Society of General Internal Medicine (SGIM) and will be held from Apr 20 - 23, 2021.

Theme: SGIM21 Meeting Theme: Transforming Values into Action

Purpose:
This meeting is intended to develop the professional skills of academic general internists and others interested in medical education, healthcare delivery and policy, and clinical general medicine. A variety of learning modalities, including lectures, workshops, and author presentations, offers attendees the opportunity to develop a personalized educational experience. Research findings, interesting clinical cases, and skill-building opportunities that address issues important to academic general medicine will be presented.

This year’s theme, Transforming Values into Action, highlights the strengths, values, and impact of leadership within General Internal Medicine. General internists play a unique role in leading from multiple perspectives – and this commitment and action move physicians and patients toward health and health equity. Generalists at all levels of training have the opportunity to choose actions on a day-to-day basis that represent our values and those of our communities and institutions. In a fragmented, uncertain world, we each lead in our own way and unite for the common good through research, medical education, advocacy, and exemplary clinical care.

Learning Objectives:
• At the conclusion of this CME/ MOC activity, participants will be able to describe and discuss the essential factors providers need to transform values into action in order to benefit individual patients and communities.
• At the conclusion of this CME/ MOC activity, participants will recognize trends in the evolution of public policy and acknowledge the need to transform care into comprehensive healthcare delivery, in particular as pertaining to the care of diverse populations.
• At the conclusion of this CME/ MOC activity, participants will be better able to translate knowledge gained into collaborative leadership efforts and transform health through clinical practice, education, and advocacy.
• At the conclusion of this CME/ MOC activity, participants will be able to identify effective ways to perform communityengaged research and collaborate with patients on educational and healthcare delivery system innovations.
