Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect is organized by South Carolina Medical Association (SCMA) and will be held on Aug 21, 2024.

Description:
The webinar will increase knowledge on the South Carolina law §63-7-310 requiring certain professionals to report suspected child abuse and neglect because of their unique opportunities to observe and interact with children.

Objectives:
• Identify mandated reporters according to South Carolina law.
• Identify role and responsibilities of mandated reporters.
• Describe statutory requirements and protections.
• Recognize signs of possible abuse and neglect.
• Recognize implicit bias and its impact on the decision-making process.
• Describe when to make a report of child abuse and neglect.
