Project ECHO: Epilepsy Across the Lifespan

Project ECHO: Epilepsy Across the Lifespan is organized by The Hospital for Sick Children, Hamilton Health Sciences (HHS), London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC), McMaster Children's Hospital: Children’s Exercise and Nutrition Centre (CENC), The Ottawa Hospital and will be held from Mar 17 - Jun 30, 2021.

Who can attend this ECHO?
Any health-care provider (HCP) in Ontario.

Accreditation:
This one-credit-per-hour Group Learning program meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been certified by Continuing Professional Development, Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto for Mainpro+ credits. These sessions are also an Accredited Group Learning Activity (Section 1) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, approved by Continuing Professional Development, Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto.

Description:
Project ECHO® Ontario: Epilepsy Across the Lifespan is a technology-enabled, collaborative, CPD-accredited learning program that partners community health care providers and epilepsy specialists to enhance care for children, adolescents and adults living with epilepsy. Our epilepsy interdisciplinary team connects with providers in communities across Ontario via videoconferencing for sessions, usually held over the lunch hour. Sessions can be accessed from a smart device or laptop from anywhere with an internet connection, for ease of participation. The session begins with a quick 10-minute didactic talk delivering relevant clinical pearls on a topic of interest and then moves a real patient case discussion relating to epilepsy which are de-identified and presented by community health care providers attendng the session. Participants are encoruaged to bring thier own cases from their practice related to epilepsy for discussion. 

All ECHO sessions are available at no cost for all health care providers in any health care setting in Ontario. The program has been funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health.
