This 1-hour introductory training offers an overview of perinatal mental health, including common mood and anxiety challenges that can arise during pregnancy and the postpartum period. We will explore how perinatal mental health concerns often show up emotionally, physically, and within relationships, and why noticing these signs early can make a meaningful difference. This training focuses on increasing understanding, reducing stigma, and helping participants feel more confident in recognizing when extra support may be needed.
Objectives:
By attending this training, you will be able to:
1. Identify at least three common perinatal mental health conditions and describe how they may present during pregnancy and the postpartum period.
2. List at least three risk factors that indicate when a pregnant or postpartum individual may benefit from additional mental health support.
3. Identify at least three supportive resources to assist individuals experiencing perinatal mental health concerns.
