Perinatal Loss - Virtual Class 2023 is organized by Northwestern Medicine and will be held on Sep 19, 2023.

Description: 
As a result of participating in this activity, the learner will be able to: obtain increased knowledge regarding resources for perinatal loss and regulatory requirements when caring for patients.

Learning Objectives:
• Identify the varied response of families experiencing loss and identify resources for support for families and self.
• Describe the utility and process of fetal autopsy in the investigation of fetal loss and communicate effectively with parents.
• Recognize the importance of organ and tissue donation in the neonatal population.
• Define the role of the Chaplain in caring for patients and their families/loved ones (and staff) experiencing perinatal loss
• Identify state-mandated hospital resources and requirements for reporting and documentation of fetal, neonatal and maternal deaths.
• Describe the evolution of perinatal palliative care and discuss practical approaches to care throughout pregnancy and delivery.
