OVERVIEW

Pediatric Asthma & Allergy Updates for Primary Care Providers 2023 is organized by Boston Children's Hospital and will be held on Mar 17, 2023.

Description:
Asthma is the most common chronic illness of childhood, affecting approximately 6 million children in the United States. Poorly controlled asthma limits activities, interferes with school attendance, and can result, all too often, in emergency department visits and hospitalizations. Our challenge remains to provide safe and effective treatment of asthma and allergies. We developed this program to provide a forum to discuss current topics related to the diagnosis and management of pediatric asthma and allergy with primary care providers, who care for the majority of these children.

Objectives
• Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
• Recognize the impact of disparities on asthma
• Develop strategies to manage patients with asthma biological therapies
• Effectively prepare patients for transition to adult providers
