Description:
This training is part of the Partners for Kids-Behavioral Health Education Series! Registration is intended for Partners for Kids providers. A Zoom link and further instructions will be sent closer to the actual training date.
This series provides participants with the opportunity to learn from internal experts in the behavioral health field. Relevant behavioral health topics and evidence-based practice tools are presented in a monthly lecture format.
Session description: “Why are we even talking about personality disorders in kids? We don’t diagnose those, do we? And even if we did, we can’t really treat them, right?” These questions and more will be tackled in this presentation. Rather than offering a comprehensive survey of DSM-5 PD criteria, this presentation aims to bust common myths (and stigma) associated with personality pathology in youth, taking a developmental and research-driven perspective. Participants will learn about treatment strategies for behaviors suggestive of personality pathology, and they will be connected to resources for further study.
Objectives:
