Description:
Finger Free® Reflexology was designed by David Wayte, after he discovered that many Reflexology therapists were getting pains and strains in their fingers after a days' work treating clients. Upon further research he found that many Reflexologists were having to give up their beloved therapy, because these pains were becoming Repetitive Strain Injuries.
Thinking there must be a better way to deliver treatment, but without using the articulating joints of the fingers and thumbs, David shut himself away for 5 years while he developed a totally unique and radical way to deliver a deep and full treatment to the feet.....he wanted to be sure his answer to the problem was going to be something unlike any other style of Reflexology! The result is Finger Free® Reflexology; techniques applying pressure to the reflex points via the knuckles and non-articulating joints of the wrist and hand, therefore massively reducing the risk to the delicate joints in our fingers and thumbs.
Although David designed these techniques to protect Reflexology therapists; hands, he found his clients actually preferred the Finger Free® techniques to Classical Reflexology. There was a common comment ‘I feel I've received Reflexology from the inside out' was said again and again. So not only did this technique benefit the therapist, it also had a profound healing effect on the client!
Most Reflexology post graduate courses you will ever attend are focused on delivering a better treatment for the client (and this is just as it should be). But we first must look after ourselves, so we can enjoy a long, successful and pain free, career ahead of us. Once we are looking after our hands properly, then we can look after our clients.
