This 3-day Upper Extremity MSK MRI course, led by expert radiologist Dr. Phillip Tirman, is designed to elevate your diagnostic skills. Covering MRI techniques for the shoulder, elbow, arm and forearm, wrist, and hand, this online radiology course offers a deep dive into essential musculoskeletal imaging. With hands-on case readings and group discussions, you'll gain practical experience and insights that you can immediately apply in your practice.

This Upper Extremity musculoskeletal (MSK) MRI course, taught by highly knowledgeable radiologist Phillip Tirman MD, will include an overview of MRI of the shoulder, elbow, arm and forearm, wrist, and hand with a daily presentation, individual case readings, and with group-based case read-outs.

With years of experience in the field of MSK radiology, Dr. Tirman comes prepared with his own case mix to share with you, containing a large variety of musculoskeletal cases relevant to the topic which participants can also review on their own after the fellowship.

Each day of the fellowship starts with a lecture followed by the challenge of practicing on real anonymized illustrative cases from the personal file of Dr. Tirman and then finished with a group discussion of the cases. Radiologists who would like to become more confident with the interpretation of imaging of MSK MRI will find this fellowship useful.

Unilabs Academy fellowships are held in a virtual classroom environment on Zoom. Participants are encouraged to engage in discussions making use of their camera and microphone in order to recreate the face-to-face experience.

In this small group environment among your peers, you are free to ask questions, make mistakes, and learn together with the support of the radiologist mentor. Online sessions are recorded so that participants can review on their own time following the training.

Learning Objectives

Enhance and further your knowledge by immersion in a learning environment free from the distractions of daily practice to interpret imaging of MSK MRI studies.
Become familiar and feel confident with performing Standard MRI and MR Arthrography related to MSK MRI imaging as encountered in daily practice.
Differentiate common mimics of pathology to avoid pitfalls.
Learn to construct a comprehensive structured report of each of the body parts discussed.

Programme will include

Talks on general MSK Imaging of injuries of the upper extremity.
Individual case reading in a PACS/DICOM viewer and interpretation of provided cases.
Group case discussion of the selected cases with time for Q&A with the radiologist mentor.
Access to presentation slides, session recordings, and other course materials.
