Join IAS–USA for an essential half day virtual course focused on the evolving clinical needs of older individuals with HIV. As people with HIV age, they face an increased risk of age-associated comorbidities and complex management challenges. This course is designed to provide a comprehensive review of current approaches to assessing, managing, and treating these age-related conditions within a half-day course format that balances didactic content, clinically relevant case-based panel discussions, and practical clinical applications.

Assessment of Needs
Rapid advances in HIV disease management require the ongoing attention of practitioners involved in direct patient care. As more patients reach an older age, HIV healthcare professionals must stay informed about the unique clinical considerations and comorbidities that affect this growing group. The course will address key topics, including the biologic and clinical aspects of aging, immunizations tailored to older adults, frailty assessments, management of cardiovascular risk, cancer screening and prevention, and neurocognitive and mental health challenges. This course is particularly aimed at non-geriatricians seeking practical, evidence-based, and informed strategies to improve care for older individuals with HIV.
