Lichen sclerosus is the most common inflammatory skin disease in the genital area. Unfortunately, the symptoms are often misinterpreted over a long period of time. If left untreated, the progression of the inflammation can lead to scarring, adhesions, and shrinkage of skin areas. This makes it all the more important that lichen sclerosus is detected and treated early.
