Infectious Disease Board Review - Livestream Course is organized by GW School of Medicine Health Sciences Office of Continuing Education in the Health Professions (CEHP) and will be held from Aug 21 - 25, 2021.

Accreditation:
The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences designates this live activity for a maximum of 101 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

MOC:
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 101 Medical Knowledge MOC points in the American Board of Internal Medicine's (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider's responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.

This knowledge-based course is approved for 4.3 CE hours for pharmacists. CE credits will be transmitted electronically to NABP within 30 days.

Learners not taking the board exam will find the course provides a comprehensive and practical update on common topics and challenges in infectious diseases.

Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:
• Identify gaps in infectious diseases medical knowledge where further study is needed for board preparation and patient management
• Improve confidence for taking the initial certification exam or one of the maintenance of certification assessment options
• Identify strategies for integrating diagnostic results and patient symptoms to accurately diagnose infectious diseases
• Recommend appropriate treatment options for infectious disease patients
• Assess risk, determine prognosis, and apply principles from epidemiologic studies
• Identify best-practice guidelines to incorporate into the care of infectious disease patients
• Answer questions written in the specific format used by the ABIM for the certification and recertification examinations
