Anyone who has patients on their list who self-neglect, which is often accompanied with hoarding, will know that their management  can be extremely challenging. They appear to have capacity and don’t give consent to involve Adult Social Services. So, if there anything we can do? Yes, there is!

I will explain what Self-Neglect and Hoarding is and the underlying causes. I will then go through a few case studies and apply various safeguarding principles which can help us to support our patients and keep them safe.

This training counts towards level 3 Adult Safeguarding training.
