Course Description:
Therapeutic Lifestyle Change, as researched and described by U of C at Irvine professor, Roger Walsh, M.D., Ph.D., are a potent, but under utilized intervention to optimize mental health for everyone, including teenagers. Teens and families are under increasing pressure from the current pandemic, as well as the general demands of the fast-paced life most of us in the Western world are living. Dr. Walsh offers real suggestions that are cost-effective, simple and easily implemented to create better mental health, which often translates into better overall health. Psychologist, Dr. Weedn and Newport Academy and Newport Healthcare Founder, Jamison Monroe, will review the eight therapeutic lifestyle changes teens and their families can make to enhance their overall wellbeing in a way that is sustainable and truly enjoyable. The 8 Ways to Sustainable Wellbeing are the foundation of all other mental health interventions, teaching teens and families how to improve and optimize their mental health through lifestyle change.

• Name the eight Therapeutic Lifestyle Changes as identified by Dr. Walsh
• Discuss possibilities for prescribing lifestyle change for patients with mental health concerns.
