Learning Objectives:
- Describe current and emerging epidemiologic trends in gout, including factors contributing to increasing disease complexity and comorbidity burden.
- Evaluate contemporary urate-lowering strategies, including treatment targets, optimal timing of therapy & common gaps between guidelines.
- Explain the mechanisms of action, indications & safety considerations of biologic therapies used in refractory gout, and appropriate monitoring strategies.
