This webinar will synthesize current knowledge of skeletal muscle plasticity, highlighting both well-established mechanisms and emerging concepts. We will explore how acute and chronic exercise stimuli are transduced into molecular signals, how these shape long-term muscle remodelling, and where critical knowledge gaps persist. Furthermore, we will discuss the implications for optimizing training strategies, particularly in high-performance contexts where experience often outpaces mechanistic understanding. Ultimately, a more detailed molecular understanding of muscle plasticity - integrating multi-omic data holds promise for advancing exercise science and improving personalized training protocols.

  • Explain the concept of skeletal muscle plasticity and how muscle adapts to different exercise stimuli
