OVERVIEW

Epilepsy Imaging From Prenatal Stages To Late Adulthood is organized by Unilabs Academy and will be held from Nov 23 - 25, 2026.

Description:
The neuroradiology course provides an in-depth look at the key aspects of imaging in epilepsy, focusing on the following areas:

Nomenclature and Classification of Epileptic Seizures: Gain a clear understanding of the latest terminology and classification systems used to describe epileptic seizures and epilepsy syndromes. This section will explore the spectrum of seizure types, including focal, generalized, and unknown onset seizures, and how these relate to imaging findings.

Imaging Protocols to Answer Clinical Questions: Learn how to tailor imaging protocols for specific clinical questions, optimizing the use of MRI and other modalities for the evaluation of epilepsy. You will cover essential protocols for both structural and functional imaging, as well as the role of advanced techniques like high-resolution MRI and functional MRI (fMRI) in epilepsy diagnosis.

Examples of Typical MR Findings: Explore a range of typical magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) findings in patients with epilepsy. From hippocampal sclerosis and focal cortical dysplasia to more subtle abnormalities like cortical malformations, this section will highlight common and distinctive imaging features that help pinpoint the underlying cause of epilepsy.

Unilabs Academy online radiology fellowships with certificates are held in a virtual classroom on Zoom. You are encouraged to engage in discussions using their camera and microphone to recreate the face-to-face experience. In this small group environment among your peers, you are free to ask questions, make mistakes, and learn together with the support of the radiologist mentor. Live sessions are recorded so that participants can review on their own time following the training.

Learning Objectives

  • To become familiar with different types of epileptic seizures and epilepsy syndromes
  • To become familiar with MRI brain epilepsy protocols
  • To gain knowledge about imaging characteristics of age-related seizure MRI findings
  • To apply a correct imaging protocol with respect to the electroclinical presentation of a patient

Programme will include

  • Lectures on Epilepsy concepts and classifications, The Hippocampus, Prenatal and early childhood epileptogenic changes, Juvenile and adult epilepsy, Imaging and epileptic surgery.
  • Individual case reading of epilepsy case studies followed by group discussion with mentor's assistance for troubleshooting
  • Plenty of time for Q&A with Dr. Prayer
  • Lifetime access to presentation slides, session recordings, and other course materials
  • Access to discussed cases after the fellowship
  • Your own personal dashboard and course materials on the Unilabs Academy radiology training platform
  • CME Certificate
