This activity will focus on the appropriate treatment of older adults with heart failure to empower pharmacists to provide improved patient care.

Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of this Application-Based activity, participants should be able to:

• Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of early aggressive pharmacotherapy for the treatment of heart failure with reduced ejection fraction in older adults.
• Examine the current evidence surrounding the routine use of sodium glucose contransport-2 inhibitors (SGLT2I), finerenone, and glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) agonists in older adults for the treatment of heart failure with preserved ejection fraction.
• Analyze medication-related problems and potential problems with using SGLT2i, finerenone, and GLP-1 agonists in older adults.
• Determine patient-specific pharmacotherapy for the treatment of heart failure in older adults.
