Duke-UNC Tobacco Treatment Specialist Training Program - Comprehensive TTS Training, Spring 2022 is organized by Duke Cancer Institute (DCI) and will be held from Mar 28 - Apr 05, 2022.

• Pre-Course Work: 4 hours, self-paced online
• Live Online Training Session 1 - March 28, 2022: 12pm to 5pm ET (via Zoom)
• Live Online Training Session 2 - March 29, 2022: 12pm to 5pm ET (via Zoom)
• Mid-Course Work: 4 hours, self-paced online
• Live Online Training Session 3 - April 5, 2022: 12pm to 5pm EDT (via Zoom)
• Live Online Training Session 4 - April 6, 2022: 12pm to 5pm ET (via Zoom)

Target Audience:

The key objective of the program is to instruct clinical staff to provide evidence-based treatment for tobacco use and dependence. Clinicians, nurses, pharmacists, social workers, public health policy-makers, and many more will all be able to benefit from the program's impactful educational experience.

Overview:

In addition to the Duke-UNC Tobacco Treatment Specialist Training Program, the program is now available online. Duke-UNC TTS provides cutting-edge continuing education in a fun and engaging online environment through a blend of interactive video sessions and online self-paced training.

Structure:

The Duke-UNC TTS Program integrates the latest evidence-based research on pharmacotherapy, population-based challenges, practical advice on how to manage a practise, and specific skills in tobacco dependence counselling. The information is presented through a combination of self-paced online learning and interactive virtual sessions that include didactic content, problem-based learning activities, practise problems, and practise counselling. After completing the course, all participants will get our full tobacco treatment textbook, which may be used as a valuable reference afterward.

Prerequisites:

In order to participate in the program, participants must have been tobacco free for at least six months.
