Meanwhile, national policy is catching up. New AI governance strategies from HHS, state-level regulatory activity, and emerging workforce protections are shaping how health systems implement intelligent tools while safeguarding the people who rely on them. Despite this progress, systemic fragmentation, uneven digital maturity, and misaligned incentives continue to limit the full promise of AI-enabled care.
