OVERVIEW

CBCT level 1 training is organized by British Dental Association (BDA) and will be held from Sep 01 - 30, 2026.

Aims
Offering individual, tailored learning streams for dentists and dental nurses this course will ensure dentists who prescribe CBCT imaging are competent to request appropriately and will provide core training needed for dentists and dental nurses to perform CBCT scans.

Learning objectives

Be aware of the differences between 2D and 3D imaging
Understand the role of CBCT in diagnosis and treatment planning
Discuss indications, limitations and risks
Appreciate the responsibilities of CBCT referrers
Be aware of selection criteria for CBCT imaging
Recognize normal anatomy and common imaging artifacts
Be up to date on the legal and ethical responsibilities as a Referrer, Practitioner and Operator.

What to expect:
Aunique, online course combining on-demand and live virtual learning, to provide attendees with an overview of the current requirements and guidelines for CBCT and complying with guidance produced by the College of General Dentistry (CGDent) and PHE on radiation protection.
