Description:
All health care practices are required to have a Compliance Program. Effective compliance programs are way more than chart reviews. The OIG has defined 7 elements to an effective compliance program. Unfortunately, many therapy practices either do not have a compliance program, or they have a program that is not functional or reasonable and sits on a shelf. In this session we will describe the 7 elements defined by the OIG and give practices and organizations practical tools for developing a compliance program that is functional, reasonable and tailored to the size of the practice or organization.

Objectives:
At the conclusion of this online course presentation, participants will:

• Articulate the 7 elements of an effective compliance program
• Articulate tools for developing an effective monitoring program that goes beyond chart audits
• Identify tools that can be utilized to automate elements of the compliance program
• Describe common risk areas in therapy practices and develop strategies for reducing risks.
