OVERVIEW

The Goodman Oral Board Preparation course by the AANS is designed to simulate the examination conducted by the American Board of Neurological Surgery (ABNS). Initiated in 1997 by Dr. Julius Goodman, this course offers neurosurgeons the chance to effectively prepare for their oral board examinations. Participants will engage in various plenary sessions and one-on-one breakout sessions tailored to specific subspecialties, ensuring comprehensive preparation. The live format enhances interaction, mimicking real exam conditions, with guidance from experienced faculty. This course is crucial for achieving familiarity with the questioning format and expectations of the board examination. **Educational Objectives:** - Understand the structure and expectations of the ABNS oral examination. - Participate in breakouts focused on subspecialty-specific scenarios. - Gain personalized feedback from faculty on clinical judgment and presentation skills. - Develop confidence in dealing with clinical scenarios presented in oral examinations.
