Description:
This updated class provides big-picture guidance and detailed practical advice for the many safety and ethical questions (and concerns about malpractice and litigation) that come up when treating pregnant patients with acupuncture and related techniques such as moxa and tui na. This is an update to previous class offered by Healthy Seminars.

Goals & Objectives:

  • Students will be able to identify the main adverse outcomes of pregnancy along with their warning signs, risk factors and approximate frequency in the ordinary population
  • Students will be able to identify 7 general red flags that should alert their attention to the possibility of adverse outcomes in a given case
  • Students will be able to identify 12 'hot pink post-its' that should alert them to pay particular attention to a given case
  • Less experienced students will understand when to consider referring out on the basis of the criteria above
