OVERVIEW

2nd Annual Real-World Data (RWD) Ophthalmology Summit is organized by iVista Medical Education, Inc and will be held on Nov 16, 2024.

Description:
Real-world data (RWD) in ophthalmology plays an increasingly important role in clinical research and health care decision making.  Generally, RWD is observational data obtained outside regulated clinical trials and generated during routine clinical practice.
The Real World Data in Ophthalmology Summit was conceived to address the methodology of real-world studies, highlight sources for these studies to be completed, and to demonstrate best practices that both researchers, physicians, and pharmaceutical companies can achieve. The series of virtual events will focus on all topics related to RWD including presentations from recent meetings and conferences which highlight how RWD is actively being appraised.

Objectives:
Describe strengths and limitations of electronic health record data and other data sources in real-world studies
• Evaluate how artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms use real-world images
• Detail findings from real-world studies evaluating management of retinovascular diseases
• Explain role of real-world data in identifying practice gaps and driving practice decisions
