22nd Annual Society for Airway Management (SAM) Scientific meeting is organized by Society for Airway Management (SAM)and will be held from Sep 25 - 26, 2021.

Accreditation:
Designation Statement:

The University of Massachusetts Medical School designates this live activity for a maximum of 10 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nursing Accreditation:
This offering meets the requirements for up to 12 contact hours, as specified by the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing (244-CMR 5.04).

Physician Assistants:
AAPA accepts certificates of participation for educational activities certified for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ from organizations accredited by ACCME or a recognized state medical society. Physician assistants may receive a maximum of 10 hours of Category 1 credit for completing this program.

Description:
The Society for Airway Management (SAM) is comprised of a multidisciplinary group of health care providers from Anesthesiology, Emergency Medicine, Otolaryngology, Critical Care, and Pulmonology, as well as CRNAs, Paramedics, Nurses and A.A’s. The 22nd SAM Annual Scientific Meeting has been developed to feature international experts in the various fields of medicine dealing with airway management. Many aspects of difficult airway management, in a variety of clinical settings, will be highlighted. This course will consist of plenary presentations, and highlight 5 tracts – pediatrics, trauma/emergency medicine, otorhinolaryngology, neurosurgical and critical care. Audience engagement will be encouraged with question and answer periods.

Objectives:
At the conclusion of the conference, the participant will be able to
:
• Discuss the integration of technology and artificial intelligence in airway management
• Apply shared experiences in the management of the Covid -19 airway into daily practice
• Utilize simulation and the workshop experience to demonstrate optimal use of airway adjuncts
• Relate current information regarding the management of adult and pediatric airway pathology utilizing multiple educational platforms
• Empower the learner to interpret current airway literature for successful implementation and dissemination
