OVERVIEW

17th National Immunisation Conference (NIC) 2021 is organized by Public Health Association of Australia Inc. (PHAA) and will be held from Jun 29 - Jul 01, 2021.

Theme: "Immunisation in the COVID pandemic era’’

Target Audience:
The conference will aim to facilitate conversations on improving effectiveness and efficiencies of immunisation through knowledge sharing and relationship building. The program must consider the needs and interests of the immunisation-focussed audience to ensure attraction and participation to the conference.
The target audience will be stakeholders able to effect and/or influence change at the systems and/or practice level including:
• Health care professionals – doctors, nurses, allied health, pharmacy, etc working in immunisation and public health;
• Vaccine preventable disease control from laboratory bench to clinic;
• Commonwealth, state and local government – Ministers, Chief Health officers and staff, and health and social sector department representatives;
• Communicable disease epidemiology and laboratory science;
• Academia;
• NGO/community and social sector provider and advocacy organisations;
• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health workers; and
• Organisations in other preventative health fields

Topics:
The program has been designed to provide lively and productive discussions and contributions from all professionals engaged in immunisation from laboratory bench to clinic, from academia and policy making to the service provision coalface.

Objectives:
• Create an environment for knowledge sharing, collaboration and relationship building;
• Highlight the challenges, opportunities and activities in immunisation to encourage engagement by delegates to work together to achieve better health outcomes for Australian’s;
• Engage professionals from a range of sectors in immunisation;
• Provide guidance and insight into capacity building and strengthening of immunisation; 
• Provide conference delegates with new and innovative ideas that can be applied to local settings and systems to help create and improve health systems for communities – from local to global
