Earn CPHQ Continuing Education credit by engaging with content from the Journal for Healthcare Quality (JHQ). Read the JHQ CE article, “Improving Patient Compliance With Mechanical Venous Thromboembolism Prophylaxis”, score at least an 80% on the post-test, and complete an evaluation. A copy of the JHQ article is included.

• State the risk of VTE for patients undergoing laparotomy for gynecologic surgery.
• Identify the difference between patient’s subjective knowledge of VTE based on if they were provided a simple educational device.
• Describe how both knowledge and compliance can be improved by providing patients a simple educational device.
