Organ-on-a-Chip & Tissue-on-a-Chip Europe 2019 is organized by SelectBio and will be held from Jun 18 - 19, 2019 at The goals, Rotterdam, South Holland, Netherlands. Course Description: It focuses on an important and expanding field wherein cells are being assembled using Microfluidics and Lab-on-a-Chip technologies in a functionally-relevant manner. These clusters of "assembled cells" have functional significance and can mimic in vivo organ structure. Liver cells assembled on-board chips in a physiologically-relevant architecture using microfluidics can, for instance, be utilized for toxicity screening and the ability to assemble organ fragments ex vivo can provide an exquisite means to reconstruct biological processes (both physiological and pathological) "in a dish" or "on a chip." A number of chips such Lung-on-a-Chip, Brain-on-a-Chip, Gut-on-a-Chip, Marrow-on-a-Chip, Bone-on-a-Chip, Nerve-on-a-Chip amongst others have been built and will be presented and explored at this conference. We will also focus on "disease-on-a-chip", cancer-on-a-chip, immune system-on-a-chip. Due to the Overlap of this Topic with Microfluidics and Lab-on-a-Chip technologies, the co-located concurrent parallel conference track focus on these topics thereby offering complete coverage of these related fields to the conference delegates. The Conference Tracks are Co-Located and Concurrent and Delegates can Participate, Mix-and-Match Presentations and Network Extensively with their Colleagues from all Conference Tracks: • Lab-on-a-Chip and Microfluidics Europe 2019 • Organ-on-a-Chip and Tissue-on-a-Chip Europe 2019 • Point-of-Care, Wearables & Mobile Diagnostics Europe 2019 Additional details will be posted as soon as they are available.

SSIEM 2019 Symposium is organized by Society for the Study of Inborn Errors of Metabolism (SSIEM) and will be held from Sep 03 - 06, 2019 at De Doelen, Rotterdam, South Holland, Netherlands. Dear Colleagues, On behalf of the Local Organizing Committee, I have great pleasure in announcing that the SSIEM 2019 Symposium will be held in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, from September 3 to September 6. We are truly excited to be welcoming you to Rotterdam. Voted number 5 in Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel in 2016, Rotterdam is a dynamic city known for its maritime history, multiethnic community, futuristic architecture and spirit of innovation. As we know from life in a city that’s continuously and rapidly renewing itself, innovation is indeed embedded in our culture. Just take our architecture: every year, new buildings and structures are added to our landscape, some of the finest being the bridges connecting different parts of the city. You might say it’s in Rotterdam’s genes to build bridges and seek connections. With the biggest port in Europe, we seek connection with the rest of the world. Within the city itself, we connect at various levels, including business, culture, and science. That’s why our Congress theme is Building Bridges. During SSIEM 2019, we hope to connect new-generation scientists with those who are well established. We hope to build bridges between laboratory and clinic, and to connect up the knowledge which has been generated on a range of diseases. All with the common goal of achieving a better future for our patients. The congress will be held in De Doelen, a city-center, state-of-the-art venue for conferences and concerts. It’s just a short walk from good hotels and Rotterdam Central Station, which is reached by direct bus from Rotterdam The Hague Airport and is only 20 minutes by train from Schiphol Airport Amsterdam. We look forward to welcoming you in Rotterdam next year, the city that never sleeps and where innovation never stops. Kind regards, Ans van der Ploeg Symposium President
