About This Conference:
This conference provides 15 contact hours of live pharmacy ACPE accredited CE and AAFP/ AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™, ANCC, NCC and AANP pharmacotherapeutics/ pharmacology CE/CME credit over three days, 5 hours per day.

At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to: 1. Identify recent FDA drug communications, including but not limited to, labeling changes, warnings, new indications, new dosage forms, MedWatch alerts and CDC immunization schedules. 2. Discuss the new drugs with respect to their pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, approved and unapproved indications. 3. Describe their adverse effects and drug interaction that may affect patient compliance. 4. Compare efficacy, dosage and cost to existing agents. 5. Discuss the patient oriented outcomes or evidence that may or may not exist for each of the new medications and when they may or may not be appropriate to recommend for selected patients. 6. GETTING HERE With an international airport, one of America’s Most Scenic highways, and waterways in all directions, getting to Key West is readily accessible for groups.

By Plane: The Key West International Airport (EYW) is located on the southeast side of the island, a quick 10 to 15 minute drive from the Resort. Flights arrive daily serviced by American Airlines, Delta, Silver Airways, JetBlue, United and Allegiant. Direct flights are available from many destinations including: Miami, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, St. Petersburg, Orlando, Atlanta, Charlotte, Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston, Washington-Dulles, Boston, Chicago, Washington (DC), Indianapolis, Sanford, Cincinnati, Asheville, Philadelphia, Newark, New York, Pittsburgh and Nashville.

By Car: The Overseas Highway is a picturesque commute from Miami to Key West and memorable enough to be designated the only All American Road in Florida by the US Transportation Secretary. This historically significant and visually breathtaking drive is a total 159 miles from Miami and takes drivers through Key Largo, Islamorada, Marathon, and The Lower Keys until arriving at the southernmost point in the United States at Mile Marker 0 in Key West.

By Boat: Passenger Ferries and private charters are also readily available from Miami to Key West for quick travel from Fort Meyers Beach and Marco Island. **The Galleon Marina located next to the hotel provides boat docking.

TRANSPORTATION Key West is a compact island, and most guests walk or ride rented bicycles, scooters and golf carts to get around. Car services and rentals are available at the airport, however most of our guests skip the car rental and use ride share/taxis/private car services to get to the Resort and don’t use a car for their stay in Key West. Premium self-parking and self-parking in our uncovered parking lot is limited, based upon availability. The resort cannot accommodate oversized vehicles and RVs. If you plan to bring an oversized vehicle, please contact the City of Key West for the most current RV parking ordinances before you arrive.

CANADIAN PHARMACISTS: Canadian Council on Continuing Education in Pharmacy (CCCEP) accepts courses accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE). This credit is applicable to health professionals who may require pharmacology credit.

NURSE PRACTITIONERS: This course provides 15 contact hours over three days, 5 hours per day, to fulfill the pharmacotherapeutics/ pharmacology requirements for American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) accepts formally approved continuing education sponsored by organizations accredited or approved by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE). University Learning Systems is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE). American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) accepts AMA PRA Category 1 Credit Education Hours .

NURSES: The same hours submitted to renew certification may be submitted to a State Board of Nursing for re-licensure. CANADIAN PHYSICIANS: Members of the College of Family Physicians of Canada are eligible to receive up to 15 MAINPRO-M1 credits for participation in this activity due to reciprocal agreement with the American Academy of Family Physicians.
