OVERVIEW

The International Symposium of Critical Care in Cancer Patients is organized by The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and will be held from Nov 04 - 06, 2026 at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, Texas, United States of America.

Overview:
This symposium focuses on the evaluation and management of complex clinical scenarios encountered in the intensive care unit. This activity is designed to enhance clinicians’ knowledge, competence, and performance in managing acute complications of cancer and cancer therapy, in response to rising ICU admissions among oncology patients

Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Identify and manage common and emerging complications in critically ill oncology patients.
  2. Integrate available resources and critical care interventions to improve clinical management of critically ill cancer patients.
  3. Discuss evolving innovations and systems based approaches in oncologic critical care, including AI applications, enhanced recovery after surgery pathways, and quality improvement frameworks to shape the future of cancer care delivery.
  4. Evaluate and apply advanced respiratory and ventilatory strategies.
  5. Apply evidence-based decision making for high risk procedures and supportive care.
