The Stony Brook Medicine 2nd Annual Advanced Practice Provider Symposium is designed to enrich Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant practice across the Stony Brook medical community. It aims to share unique clinical experiences and expertise, present evidence-based updates, and foster interprofessional communication and collaboration. This year's theme focuses on the evolution and impact of advanced practice providers' roles in healthcare, emphasizing clinical excellence, advocacy, leadership, mentoring, and education. Learning Objectives: - Verbalize psychosocial implications in the care of pediatric patients. - Utilize best practice in respiratory management. - Improve understanding and skills in ultrasound, management of patients needing ventilation assistance, and resuscitation. - Discuss compliance and legal implications of fraud. - Review utilization of artificial intelligence in healthcare. - Describe updates in the management of pulmonary embolism.
