National Lipid Association (NLA) 2026 Fall Clinical Lipid Update (CLU) is organized by National Lipid Association (NLA) and will be held from Oct 02 - 04, 2026 at JW Marriott Orlando Bonnet Creek Resort & Spa, Orlando, Florida, United States of America.

Educational Objectives:
At the end of this activity, all participants should be able to:

Opening Session- Preventive Strategies for Optimal Cardiometabolic Health

  1. Discuss key quality metrics in clinical practice settings 
  2. Discuss strategies for implementing preventive care in healthcare systems
  3. Describe how the CKM prevent calculator is used in clinical practice
  4. Recognize the Role of Clinical Decision Support in Healthcare and Research

Session II- The vital role of lipids in the heart brain axis  

  1. Describe role of APOE in lipid metabolism
  2. Assess the physiological and biochemical pathways linking heart health and brain function
  3. Discuss evidence-based strategies for dementia prevention 

Session III- Beyond the Basics: Optimizing Women’s Wellness

  1. Explore holistic strategies that address multifaceted aspects of women’s cardiometabolic health
  2. Identify the changes in lipid profiles associated with menopause and perimenopause
  3. Discuss the role of Lp(a) in influencing cardiometabolic risk factors in women 

Session IV- The Future of Imaging 

  1. Discuss the utility of imaging in prevention and treatment of ASCVD. 

Session V- Lp(a): Primary Prevention - Case Perspectives from the Lipid Scholars

  1.  Discuss strategies for the management of patients with lipid disorders using a case-based approach

Session VI- Targeting apoB lipoproteins in the clinic; fireside chat with expert clinicians

  1. Recognize the role of apolipoprotein B (ApoB) as a universal target for ASCVD prevention
  2. Discuss common clinical challenges related to targeting apoB lipoproteins
  3. Discuss strategies for the management of patients with lipid disorders  

Session VII- Addressing obesity and weight loss challenges: Implications for cardiometabolic health

  1. Analyze the impact of weight loss on cardiometabolic health and discuss its implications for managing obesity-related challenges
  2. Discuss the role of bariatric surgery in improving cardiometabolic health
  3. Assess the clinical application of incretin mimetics including side effects in managing weight loss challenges

Session VIII- Questions from the clinic: Addressing severe HTG

  1. Identify the underlying causes of severe hypertriglyceridemia and assess patient risk factors
  2. Discuss dietary strategies to manage severe hypertriglyceridemia 
  3. Appraise therapeutic strategies to manage patients with severe hypertriglyceridemia

Session IX- Enhancing pediatric health: Strategies for early intervention  

  1. Evaluate application of lipid screening in pediatric cohorts
  2. Analyze effective strategies to prevent and manage childhood obesity
  3. Identify the unique health needs of diverse pediatric populations and discuss tailored early intervention strategies to improve health outcomes.
