Aortic Awareness Day - 2026

Aortic Awareness Day aims to address a critical professional practice gap in the early detection, diagnosis and management of aortic diseases including aortic aneurysms and dissections. Despite advances in imaging and treatment, these conditions often remain under-recognized or misdiagnosed in clinical practice, leading to preventable morbidity and mortality. This event prioritizes high-risk individuals, acute patients requiring emergency intervention, and survivors managing long-term care. Educational Objectives: - Recognize the critical need for early diagnosis and treatment of aortic diseases and be able to outline current diagnostic tools and emergency response protocols. - Identify high-risk patient profiles, with both classic and atypical presentations of acute aortic diseases. - Apply current evidence-based guidelines and diagnostic strategies for timely evaluation and initial management of aortic emergencies. - Highlight the importance of integrated team communication across emergency, cardiology, vascular, and CT surgical services. - Interpret emerging data and advances in aortic disease management including genetic screening, endovascular techniques and long-term surveillance.
