This course explores the role of advanced diet therapy in the MDT management of adults with IBD. Through lectures, case studies and practical sessions, participants will gain in-depth understanding of surgical and medical interventions, and how tailored nutritional strategies can be integrated across patient care pathways.
Course Objectives:
- Deepen understanding of surgical interventions in IBD (e.g., stoma, pouch, resections) and associated anatomical/nutritional consequences.
- Equip participants with practical skills to deliver personalized nutritional care as part of a holistic IBD management plan.
- Enhance ability to identify and manage nutritional complications in IBD using dietary therapy alongside medical and surgical approaches.
- Broaden knowledge of the MDT approach in IBD care—covering dietetics, gastroenterology, surgery, psychiatry, and pharmacology.
