2026 UTHealth Houston Psychiatry Update Conference: Behavioral Health in the Age of AI is organized by McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston and will be held on Apr 18, 2026 at TMC Collaborative Building, Houston, Texas, United States of America.

Course Description:
The rapid growth of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital health tools is changing the field of behavioral health. From diagnosis to treatment, mobile apps to digital therapies, these technologies are reshaping how we deliver mental health. This one-day conference will explore how AI and digital tools are improving behavioral health care. We’ll also look at the challenges they bring – especially around ethics, privacy, and clinical use.

Series Objectives

  • Evaluate current inpatient and outpatient digital mental health tools.
  • Apply strategies for effective integration of inpatient and outpatient digital mental health tools into diverse clinical settings.
  • Identify barriers and facilitators to digital mental health adoption among veterans, individuals with disabilities, and underserved populations.
  • Implement inclusive strategies to improve access to care and mental health outcomes.
  • Critically assess emerging AI, app-based, and wearable tools for mental health, including their clinical evidence, ethical considerations, and potential for integration into practice.
