Description:
General neurologists need periodic and regular updates about many hot topics in neuromuscular disorders. Evidence-based literature grows by the day and indications and contraindications change. Also, new medications are emerging and approved regularly which exacerbates the need to learn about their place in the treatment paradigm and to navigate the high-price dilemma. There is also a need to broaden the scope of the general neurologists on the emerging literature of hereditary neuropathies and idiopathic inflammatory myopathies.  There is growing literature on increased utilization of genetic testing in the diagnosis of neuromuscular diseases which need to be addressed.  This seminar is designed to have national and world experts talk about emerging therapies and updates on different neuromuscular disorders such as chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy, neuromuscular complications of cancer, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and myasthenia gravis.

Educational Objectives:
At the conclusion of the conference, participants should be able to:

• Identify diabetic inflammatory neuropathies and differentiate them from the rest of diabetic neuropathies.
• Select proper patients for muscle and nerve biopsies
• Implement new therapeutic paradigm for myasthenia gravis
• Apply new protocol for diagnosis and treatment of amyloid neuropathy
