Maui Anesthesia Seminar 2025 is organized by Holiday Seminars, Inc. and will be held from Feb 22 - Mar 01, 2025 at Hyatt Regency Maui Resort And Spa, Maui, Hawaii, United States of America.

Course Objectives:
To review related physiology, pharmacology, agents and techniques that contribute to the art and science of anesthesiology. To discuss new agents, techniques, and controversies in the field, assisting the participant in preparing better patient care plans.

Lecture Objectives:

  • Discuss the intraoperative use of pulmonary vasodilators for patients with pulmonary hypertension.
  • Describe the new ASA airway infographic.
  • Compare the pharmacologic labor and cesarean management of DPE, versus CSE and EPL techniques.
  • Describe the value of surface cardiac ultrasound for preoperative assessment.
  • Evaluate a variety of difficult airway patients.
  • Diagnose the absence of a capnography curve.
  • Discuss what elements make neuraxial techniques more difficult, and examine labor analgesic options if neuraxial techniques cannot be placed.
  • Identify indications for perioperative lung ultrasound, and recognize the ultrasound findings of pneumothorax.
  • Identify recent advances in the available options for lung isolation in thoracic surgery.
  • Discuss the changes that you could make to improve your practice as a result of attending the panel discussion.
  • Describe the value of gastric ultrasound in the assessment of patients taking GLP-1 agonists.
  • Develop a plan for perioperative management of a patient with an anterior mediastinal mass.
  • Discuss how to use topical anesthetic blocks for awake intubation.
  • Identify the strategies discussed that can aid in difficult conversations.
  • List the changes that you will make to your practice as a result of the suggestions presented in the panel discussion.
  • Review common clinical cases that present analgesia and anesthesia management issues, and discuss how risk- and evidence-based analyses can assist in decision making.
  • Explain the effects of volatile anesthetics on hypoxic pulmonary vasoconstriction.
  • Outline how to develop a plan for the difficult to extubate patient.
  • Discuss the value of TEE in the assessment of unstable patients.
  • List the ideas discussed in the panel that will improve your clinical performance.

Holiday Seminars is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. As an accredited organization for continuing medical education, Holiday Seminars designates the Maui Anesthesia Seminar as meeting the criteria for 20 hours of AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™. This credit will be given to those completing the course as designed.  Most credits earned through Holiday Seminars count towards the ABA's Patient Safety requirements for PARS/MOCA.

    CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY

    Tuition Refunds: For cancellations more than 60 days prior to the first event of the seminar, the cancellation fee is $100 (to cover credit card fees and administrative costs).  For cancellations 30-60 days prior to the first event, the cancellation fee is $200.  There are no refunds for cancellations less than 30 days prior to the first event, however, the tuition can be applied to a future seminar through the next year.  If the seminar can't take place as originally planned due to the pandemic, you will still be able to access the lectures in video format and earn the credits, or the tuition can be applied to a future seminar through the next year.
