OVERVIEW

Level 2 - Basic Botulinum Toxin: Aesthetic Upper Face & Therapeutic Pain Management is organized by Pacific Training Institute for Facial Aesthetics (PTIFA) and will be held from Sep 12 - 13, 2025 at Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Description:
Level 2 includes an online component (17 hrs), plus an extensive two-day clinical session (16 hrs) held just outside Vancouver, BC at the practice of Dr. Roberts.

Online Didactic:
The online portion of Level 2 includes six sections:

  • Frontalis
  • Orbicularis Occuli
  • TMD
  • Migraines & Headaches
  • Parafunctional Habits

The online portion allows practitioners to develop a deep understanding of what botulinum toxin is, how and why it affects facial muscles, and how to use botulinum toxin to achieve aesthetic facial improvements in the upper face. Practitioners will also learn how botulinum toxin is used therapeutically to treat parafunctional habits, TMD, temporal headaches, migraines and oromandibular dystonias. Prevention and interception of these disorders is addressed. A review of the musculature of the face and neck and analysis of muscle recruitment assists us in determining the cause of the many wrinkle presentations and expressions. The facial aging process is discussed as it relates to placement of the medication and the dosage required EMG
(electromyography) is used to aid in the analysis and differential diagnosis of parafunctional habits, TMD and headaches.

Objectives:

  • Identify and mark precise anatomical facial landmarks for placing botulinum toxin cosmetically in the upper face and for myofascial pain.
  • Diagnose and inject botulinum toxin (aka Dysport®/Botox®) for predictable cosmetic results in the upper face.
  • Diagnose and inject botulinum toxin (aka Dysport®/Botox®) for predictable therapeutic results including myofascial pain (migraine, headache & TMD).
