OVERVIEW

American Society of Dermatopathology (ASDP) 62nd Annual Meeting is organized by The American Society of Dermatopathology (ASDP) and will be held from Nov 06 - 09, 2025, at Hilton Baltimore Inner Harbor, Baltimore, Maryland, United States of America.

Learning Objectives:
The educational mission of the ASDP is to teach, aid in the dissemination of knowledge and encourage research to improve the quality of the practice of dermatopathology. The annual meeting is primarily an educational one, offering members, fellows, residents and medical students lectures on current topics in dermatopathology, interactive virtual microscopy sessions, a self-assessment course, and opportunities for poster and oral abstract presentations.

After attending the 2025 Annual Meeting, participants should be able to:

  • Recognize ethical and professional dilemmas in dermatopathology and explore strategies for addressing them with guidance from the American Society of Dermatopathology (ASDP).
  • Appreciate the challenges of inpatient dermatopathology, and the strengths and weaknesses of diagnostic dermatopathology in this setting.
  • Improve diagnostic proficiency at special anatomic sites, including genital skin, and ocular and oral mucosa.
  • Apply communication strategies when navigating interpersonal relationships in the workplace and in career development.
  • Differentiate myeloid neoplasms involving the skin, including from reactive mimickers such as histiocytoid Sweet syndrome, using next generation sequencing and clinical and histopathologic features.
  • Demonstrate greater understanding of uncommon entities that are not often seen in routine practice.
  • Differentiate histopathologic clues and potential mimickers in inflammatory and neoplastic dermatopathology.
  • Develop a framework for a reflective practice by systematically examining diagnostic mistakes.
  • Discuss potential applications of artificial intelligence to diagnostic dermatopathology.
  • Understand the applications, limitations, and future directions of molecular testing, including next generation sequencing, for work up of challenging melanocytic lesions.
