61st Annual Residents’ Days is organized by Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and will be held from Jun 13 - 14, 2025 at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, Miami, Florida, United States of America.

Course Description:
This hybrid program is designed for the residents, fellows, faculty, and alumni of the Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, as well as community ophthalmologists. Participants will be updated on new diagnostic tools and the progress of on-going research to improve the clinical outcomes of patients. Didactic presentations will be augmented with audiovisuals and followed by a question/answer session.

Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this program, participants should be able to:

  • Select best vitreoretinal surgical procedure by evaluating indications and outcomes
  • Describe the safety and efficacy of procedures used in the surgical management of glaucoma
  • Use imaging technology to allow early diagnosis of ophthalmic diseases and guide response to treatment
  • Diagnose ocular tumors and recommend appropriate management
  • Identify common microbial organisms producing endophthalmitis
