OVERVIEW

4th Annual Multidisciplinary Cardiac Sarcoidosis Symposium is organized by The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUMC) and will be held on Feb 07, 2025 at Biomedical Research Tower, Columbus, Columbus, Ohio, United States of America.

Description:
It is important for the healthcare provider to be able to identify and integrate current guidelines in diagnosing and treating cardiac sarcoidosis patients. Many of these patients have multiple co-morbidities and diagnoses. Creating education that emphasizes the utilization of current guidelines for diagnosing and treating patients will result in an improved level of care.  Guidelines include the role of PET, MRI, and serum biomarkers in diagnosing cardiac sarcoidosis.  These patients may require prolonged ambulatory rhythm monitoring, management of ventricular arrhythmia, and other surveillance for long-term complications.

Objectives:
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  • Recognize the role of PET and MRI for diagnosis of cardiac
  • Review role of serum biomarkers for diagnosis of cardiac sarcoidosis.
  • Identify role of prolonged ambulatory rhythm monitoring for cardiac sarcoidosis.
  • Discuss risk stratification for the need of pacing and defibrillation therapy.
  • Explain the role of immunosuppressants for treatment of cardiac sarcoidosis.
  • Describe management of ventricular arrhythmia in patients with cardiac sarcoidosis.
  • Review surveillance for long-term complications of cardiac sarcoidosis.
  • Identify association of cardiac sarcoidosis and advanced heart failure and pulmonary hypertension.
  • Describe role of multidisciplinary approach for management of cardiac sarcoidosis.
