General Conference Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this conference, participants should be better able to:

• Utilize generative AI to efficiently create content and assessments by applying strategies for engineering prompts that maximize useful outputs from large language models.
• Discuss the latest trends and updates in accreditation for internal medicine pulmonary disease (PUD), critical care medicine (CCM) and pulmonary critical care medicine (PCCM) from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
• Utilize institutional resources to overcome barriers in developing a Health Systems Science curriculum, implement strategies for creating and teaching engaging content, and apply tools to evaluate and enhance the quality of fellow mortality and morbidity conferences.
• Identify signs of poor mental health in learners, implement strategies to support fellows in navigating these issues, and determine when and how to effectively address mental health concerns with other fellows and faculty within the program.
• Compare and contrast various immersive learning technologies, describe their strengths and limitations for PCCM training, explore their potential to transform existing learning paradigms for fellowship trainees, and discuss the challenges and potential solutions related to their implementation.
• Identify ACGME SDOH/DEI milestones and the current lack of formative assessment in many programs, facilitate discussions with program leaders to brainstorm pathways for integrating these milestones into formative evaluations, and compile their results into a recommendation statement for embedding health equity milestones into fellow evaluations.
• Establish the importance of overcoming barriers to enhance faculty skills for working with trainees, plan and design effective professional development sessions, and examine barriers to professional development while proposing improvements for its delivery.
• Review methods and conclusions from key 2024 publications on procedural training, simulation, communication and trainee assessment, and discuss potential areas for further study and collaboration within the APCCMPD community and beyond.
• Prepare for and negotiate career advancement opportunities in medical education leadership by identifying key strategies for career growth, developing effective negotiation techniques, and applying these skills to advance their professional goals.
• Discuss the current state of climate and planetary health in medical education, particularly in pulmonary and critical care, identify the impact of air pollution on lung health, and commit to reducing the climate footprint of their clinical practice.
