This year’s theme, “Elevate the Field: Inspiring Innovation in Sports Medicine,” will challenge you to explore new ideas in clinical practice, apply cutting-edge research, and connect with diverse patients. With a stellar lineup of national and international experts, highlights include:

• Olympian Suni Lee delivering the Presidential Keynote
• Paul Dijkstra, MBChB, DPhil, discussing AI in Sports Medicine in the Hough Memorial Lecture
• Nonhlanhla Mkumbuzi, PT, PhD, sharing innovations from low-resource settings in the Anderson Memorial Lecture
• Expert presentations on topics such as REDs and female/male athlete triad, wearable technology, the efficacy of screening tools, surgical innovations, and novel muscular injury treatment.

The meeting will feature case-based sessions, evidence-based fracture care, sideline management essentials, and updates from the Collaborative Research Network (CRN) on safe sport environments and the latest research findings. We’ll also offer a new pre-conference focused on Career Development for Early to Mid-Career Physicians, enhancing basic and advanced ultrasound skills, and professional development through ICLs.

This year introduces a new special interest group on the Care of the Underserved, alongside beloved programs like the MSK Exam Boot Camp and Fellowship Fair. The Fellows Quiz Bowl is making a return to allow fellowship programs to participate in some friendly game-based competition. The AMSSM Annual Meeting is the premier educational meeting for sports medicine physicians and healthcare providers, and it highlights the latest research and medical practices to enhance the care of sports medicine patients.

Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, the participant should be able to:

• Integrate the diagnosis and treatment of muscle and tendon injuries into patient care in a variety of settings.
• Describe care options for an athlete with an ACL tear, including rehabilitation, surgery, and complex issues surrounding the injury.
• Recognize the role of nutrition in athletic health and performance.
• Apply strategies for management of sideline emergencies.
• Evaluate the utility of screening tools in sports medicine.
• Examine the use of technology to improve diagnosis, treatment, and performance in upper extremity disorders.
• Identify commonly missed musculoskeletal and medical diagnoses in sports medicine.
• Develop plans to optimize health and performance of female athletes.
• Evaluate innovations in fracture care and orthopedic surgical innovations.
• Assess the use of artificial intelligence as it applies to bioethics, clinical efficiency, and the field of sports medicine.
• Discuss the importance of sleep and methods to implement a sleep health program.
• Compare the surgical and non-surgical treatment of thoracic outlet syndrome and chronic exertional compartment syndrome.
• Analyze the top research articles and determine clinical applicability.
