Transforming Knowledge into Action: Managing Diabetes Chronic Complications
This two-day conference will feature expert speakers covering key topics such as obesity management, CKM syndrome, foot care, liver health, continuous glucose monitoring, diabetes medications (including SGLT2 inhibitors and GLP-1 agonists), ADA/AACE standards of care, geriatric diabetes, mental health, nutrition, weight loss therapy, and culturally sensitive counseling. Health professionals will gain practical tools and clinical insights to enhance diabetes care and improve patient outcomes.
Educational Objectives:
- Apply current clinical guidelines and evidence-based strategies to manage type 2 diabetes, incorporating pharmacotherapy (including GLP-1 receptor agonists and SGLT-2 inhibitors),
obesity medications, and emerging agents targeting satiety hormone pathways. - Integrate the use of continuous glucose monitoring systems, dietary interventions, and culturally sensitive care plans to optimize glycemic control and cardiometabolic health outcomes.
- Recognize and manage complications and comorbid conditions associated with diabetes, including cardiovascular disease, depression, diabetic foot complications, and Metabolic
Dysfunction-Associated Liver Disease. - Identify real-world barriers to care and implement practical solutions to improve access, adherence, and patient engagement in diabetes management.
- Describe the role of palliative and hospice care in supporting patient autonomy, aligning treatment with healthcare goals, and enhancing quality of life in individuals with advanced or complex conditions.
