13th European School of Dermato-Oncology is organized by MedConcept GmbH, European Association of Dermato-Oncology (EADO) and will be held from Jun 27 - 28, 2025 at Radisson Blu Hotel, Hamburg, Hamburg, Germany.

Description:
The EADO is a non-profit organization founded in 1999 to promote, coordinate and improve clinical and laboratory research activities in the field of skin cancer including primary and secondary prevention, early detection, clinical diagnosis and clinical and experimental research. EADO has organized many successful meetings and the upcoming ones are visible on the website (www.eado.org). The EADO initiates for the thirteenth time a course dedicated to fundamentals in skin cancer targeted to specialists and residents in the final phase of their resident program. They will benefit a comprehensive and updated course to improve their decision-making process for the management of all types and stages of skin cancer, from diagnosis, primary treatment and adjuvant treatment, to the management of locoregional disease and distant metastatic disease.

Educational Objectives:
The principal aim of the course is to provide a comprehensive and detailed understanding of the decision-making process for the management of all types and stages of skin cancer. This will include diagnosis and primary treatment, management of locoregional disease and distant metastatic disease, and adjuvant treatment. This is particularly relevant given the rapid progress in our understanding of melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancer, and the development of new treatments. In particular delegates will acquire the following knowledge:

  • Learn the process and essential steps involved in establishing a skin cancer center
  • Key aspects of skin cancer surgery.
  • Skills to interpret and understand clinical trial data, with a focus on Hazard Ratios, p-values and more.
  • The fundamental biological principles behind targeted therapies and immune checkpoint inhibitors.
  • The evolution of adjuvat and neo-adjuvant therapies for melanoma and other skin cancers, examing past methods, current standards and future advancements.
  • Current first- and second-line treatment for stage IV melanoma patients.
  • Treatments options for advanced cases of basal cell, cutaneous squamous cell and merkel cell carcinomas, particularly for patients whose tumors cannot be surgically removed.
  • Diagnosis and treatment of rare skin tumors, such as cuteaneous lymphomas, with a focus on specialized approaches.
  • Strategies to manage side effects associated with targeted therapies and immunotherapies.
  • Key communication strategies for effectively engaging with cancer patients, tailored specifically for dermato-oncologists
