OVERVIEW

The Liver Meeting (TLM) 2024 is organized by American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD) and will be held from Nov 15 - 19, 2024 at San Diego Convention Center, San Diego, California, United States of America.

Description:
This year marks a significant milestone in our organization’s history as we celebrate the 75th anniversary of The Liver Meeting. Over the past seven and a half decades, AASLD has been at the forefront of advancing liver disease research, education, and patient care. Our annual meeting has served as a cornerstone event for hepatology professionals from around the globe to convene, collaborate, and exchange cutting-edge knowledge and expertise.

This year’s theme, “Momentum,” serves as a poignant reflection of the remarkable progress and growth that The Liver Meeting has experienced since its inception. It underscores the collective efforts of our community in propelling the field of hepatology forward, fueled by innovation, collaboration, and a shared commitment to excellence.

I’m also excited to share some highlights of the exceptional courses being offered this year:

  • A joint program with ILCA: What’s New in HCC Screening and Prevention offers a deep dive into hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) risk assessment, surveillance, and prevention. From emerging prevention strategies to novel surveillance methods, this session promises to be eye-opening.
  • Prepare for some cutting-edge insights in our ASCO joint session: Advanced Diagnostics and Monitoring for HCC. Explore the latest advancements in HCC diagnosis and monitoring, including molecular-based targeted therapies, ctDNA analysis, and groundbreaking imaging techniques like immuno-PET and MR spectroscopy.
  • Obesity is a complex issue that has far-reaching implications for liver health. Our Obesity Medicine Course will have you covered. Part 1 delves into the fundamentals of obesity as a disease and equips you with essential tools for evaluation and diagnosis. In Part 2, dive into practical approaches to obesity treatment, gaining strategies and tools to make a real difference in your patients’ lives.

I’m truly proud of how The Liver Meeting has evolved into a premier global forum for groundbreaking research presentations, interactive workshops, and networking opportunities with leading experts in the field. As we commemorate 75 years, we remain committed to fostering innovation, driving progress, and improving outcomes for patients with liver disease worldwide.

As we look forward to convening in San Diego, I invite you to join us in celebrating AASLD’s rich legacy and charting the course for the future of hepatology. Together, let us continue to make strides in advancing liver health and transforming patient care.
